    What we do

    NWTH EV Gigafactory

    The NWTH EV Gigafactory, located in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, China, is a monumental manufacturing facility spanning 200,000 m² within a total construction area of over 300,000 m². The factory includes various specialized workshops, such as stamping, welding, painting, PACK assembly, and test tracks. Managed by China United Engineering Corporation Limited, this gigafactory is NWTH’s first major production site in Jinhua and represents the largest single-volume flooring project completed by Dramix® in China between 2021 and 2023.

    The challenge

     

    As the first super factory of NWTH in Jinhua, the project required an extensive flooring solution that could meet the demands of a largescale, high-capacity manufacturing environment. The challenge was to create a durable, jointless, and lowmaintenance floor that could handle the intense load and wear from the production of 30 vehicles per hour. The project’s scale and the need for rapid completion added further complexity, requiring an innovative and efficient approach to flooring that could be executed within a tight one-year timeline.

    The solution

     

    To address these challenges, the flooring contractor, Chengdu Yiheng Jianye Technology Co., Ltd., implemented a combination of saw-cut and jointless flooring using Dramix® steel fiber concrete reinforcement. The floors were constructed with a thickness of 0.3 meters, and the steel fiber was dosed at 15 kg/m³, with saw cut spaces of 8m x 8m. This differentiated solution provided superior crack resistance and load-bearing capacity while ensuring the floor’s durability and longevity under the demanding conditions of a gigafactory. The ease of execution of the steel fiber solution was instrumental in completing this massive project within the one-year period, setting a new standard for efficiency and quality in large-scale industrial flooring projects.
