Apollo, a major snack and biscuit manufacturer, is upgrading the storage area of their 20-year-old factory in Larkin, Johor, Malaysia. The project, which began in August 2025, involves approximately 8,500 m² across three warehouses to accommodate a new, sophisticated racking and material-handling system. The upgrade is being executed in stages to maintain ongoing production operations.
The owner required DM2 floor f latness specification, a stringent standard for Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) warehouses—which demanded a qualified flat floor specialist to complete the project. The existing 20-year-old floor needed upgrading to meet modern racking and handling specifications without disrupting production.
4D 8060BGE steel fibers were used for the concrete topping with a saw cut joint floor design. This approach eased execution, saved substantial construction time, and eliminated the need for traditional rebar, enabling a faster, more efficient upgrade while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.
