Dramix steel fibres supporting high-performance aviation flooring

Emirates and GE developed a new engine repair and overhaul facility in Dubai to service more than 300 engines annually while expanding advanced aviation maintenance capabilities in the region.

The challenge

 

The engine overhaul facility required a durable industrial flooring system capable of supporting demanding maintenance operations within a large-scale aviation environment. Long-term floor performance and reliability were essential to support continuous servicing activities across the facility.

The solution

 

Dramix® steel fibre reinforced concrete was selected for the 200 mm thick ground slab solution at the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre. The fibre reinforced industrial flooring system delivered a durable slab solution designed to support demanding operational conditions within the engine overhaul facility while maintaining long term floor performance across the 21,000 m² project area.
