Nestled in Rayong, Thailand, the Map Ta Phut Distribution Center 20A project emerges as a groundbreaking endeavor in warehouse and distribution center construction. Spanning 8,000 square meters, this project sought to redefine flooring standards by opting for a seamless floor on the ground application.
The Zhongbai The Map Ta Phut Distribution Center 20A faced a distinct challenge, echoing the collective pain points of the owner, design team, and contractor. The primary concern revolved around the desire to reduce joints in the slab, necessitating a departure from conventional saw-cut joints. This challenge required a solution that not only met the structural requirements of a warehouse but also embraced a design approach that minimized joints, ensuring durability and longevity.
Bekaert’s Dramix® Steel Fiber Reinforcement, specifically the 4D 65/60BG product with a dosage of 30kg/m3, emerged as the ideal solution to address the challenge of minimizing joints in the slab. This combi slab design provided a seamless floor on the ground, setting a new standard for warehouse construction in Thailand. Bekaert collaborated closely with partners, offering design support and services to implement the first seamless slab on the ground floor in the country. The Dramix® solution not only met the pain points but exceeded expectations, providing a durable, joint-minimized flooring solution that represents a pioneering achievement in Thai construction practices. This successful collaboration showcases Bekaert’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of innovation in partnership with industry leaders.
