A massive 100,000m2 container pavement at the Port of Brisbane, thanks to Dramix® plus conventional reinforcing mesh.
The pavement faced heavy loads from stacked containers, trucks, and cranes, needing a robust, durable solution to handle immense loads without structural compromise. The customer also demanded a seamless surface, free of movement joints and saw-cuts, for durability, a flawless finish, and enhanced longevity under constant heavy use.
To address the challenges, we implemented a seamless approach that could withstand the significant loads from stacked containers and heavy reach stackers. Our solution combined Dramix® 4D 65/60BG steel fibers with conventional reinforcing mesh on top, completely eliminating the need for movement joints or saw-cuts. Collaboration was key to the project’s success. We worked closely with McVeigh Consulting to determine the optimal solution. This partnership ensured that every aspect of the design and implementation met the stringent requirements for durability and performance.
The result was a long-lasting, durable pavement that satisfies all operational demands. The Port Authority is confident in this proven, tried, and tested solution, knowing it will deliver unmatched durability and a flawless finish despite the heavy loads and wear.
