Adani Ports and SEZ developed a 28,000 sq.m Copper Concentrate Storage Warehouse for their upcoming smelting facility. Using Dramix® steel fibers in the flooring system led to significant steel savings and improved construction speed and productivity.
This large-scale 28,000 sqm project was designed to store copper concentrate, subjecting the floor to static loads up to 22T and truck axle loads of 100kN. Meeting such demands with conventional flooring would require a much thicker section and heavy doublelayer reinforcement, leading to increased complexity and resource consumption during construction.
The adoption of high-tensile Dramix® 4D 80/60 BGE steel fibers, we reduced steel consumption by ~30% and eliminated both layers of TMT rebar. This delivered faster construction, superior impact resistance, and long-term floor durability. Bekaert supported the project end-to-end — from design and detailing to on-site assistance — ensuring a smooth, efficient execution for the customer’s first experience with this technology.
