Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd started the operation early 2024. Mercedes-Benz has signed a long-term lease agreement with Tiong Nam Logistics Solutions Sdn Bhd, one of the biggest local logistic company in Malaysia, to open a new After-Sales Logistic Centre in Senai Airport City, Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This 100,000 m2 logistics centre was owned and developed by Tiong Nam Logistics Solutions. it would be wellequipped with the latest storage and material-handling system.
The main challenge was that the owner and contractor was to complete very first project ever in a big scale within the tight schedule amidst of the recovering stage from the Covid pandemic. In addition, the solution had to have sufficient strength to meet the high expectation from the international client.
To address the challenge of completing a large-scale project on a tight schedule during the postCovid recovery, we collaborated closely with the flooring contractor, leveraging our technical expertise. We proposed using high-quality 5D Dramix® steel fibers (65/60BG at 30kg/m³ and 35kg/m³) for a fiberonly slab-on-pile design, which significantly reduced casting time while ensuring the required strength.
Engaging local and international experts, we demonstrated the benefits of SFRC to Daimler’s team, resulting in the timely and successful early 2024 operation start of the 100,000 m² Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd facility.
