The “470 Million Automotive Engineering Springs and New Energy Parts Project” is a new project invested by the German SCHERDEL Automotive Group in the Anqing City, Anhui Province. It will manufacture spring products for unmanned driving wire control braking systems, new energy drive systems and fuel cell applications.
The owner wanted to start production two months ahead of the original program to meet surging sales orders. Conventional rebar reinforced slabs would have required mesh placement – a schedule the owner could not accept. Saw-cutting joints were also seen as a future risk for AGV-wheel wear and long-term durability.
Bekaert proposed a Dramix® 4D f ibre-only jointless floor solution, with special joint profiles at large distances joint space 30m × 27m. Our contractor partner Anhui Nanfu Engineering finished the entire floor 14 days sooner than anticipated, giving the client a two-week head start on equipment installation.
By replacing rebar with Dramix® 4D f ibres, the project team delivered a crack-controlled, joint-free surface ready for 5-ton and 10-ton loads. The new plant is now ramping up production—two months early— proving again that the right floor solution turns “mission impossible” into “mission accomplished—early”.
